The NemID system shall be used for all online transactions and services provided by the government and private institutions in Denmark. Citizens are required to obtain a NemID upon reaching the age of 15 or upon becoming a resident of Denmark. The NemID shall consist of a personal identification number and a one-time password. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in denial of access to online services.
All Danish citizens must use NemID for online government and private services, and they must get a NemID when they turn 15 or move to Denmark.
