Is it legally valid?
Yes. Signatures created with eSignDoc are legally binding under the U.S. ESIGN Act (2000), UETA, and EU eIDAS Regulation — the same legal weight as handwritten signatures for most document types.
Are documents stored on servers?
No. Everything runs 100% in your browser using HTML5 Canvas, PDF.js, and pdf-lib. Your documents and signatures never leave your device or touch any server.
What output formats are available?
Download the signed document as a PDF (signatures embedded via pdf-lib), a PNG screenshot, or an Audit Trail CSV. The PDF retains all original text and vector layers.
What is the signing link?
A unique token URL generated locally using the Web Crypto API. It encodes the document reference so you can share it with a signer. Tokens expire after 30 days and are stored only in localStorage.
What is in the audit trail?
The audit trail captures: signing timestamp, browser user agent, IP address (fetched from ipify.org), document hash (SHA-256), signing token, and document name — all embedded as a certificate page in the signed PDF.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Full touch event support for all drawing and field dragging. PDF zoom and page navigation work on mobile. Tested on iOS Safari and Android Chrome.
