The Legislative Assembly of Madeira shall be composed of 47 members, elected by proportional representation for a term of four years. The assembly shall be responsible for making laws and decisions for the autonomous region of Madeira. The members of the assembly shall be elected by the people of Madeira, and shall represent the interests of the region. The assembly shall convene at least four times a year to discuss and vote on regional matters.
