Treaty of Pereyaslav

The Treaty of Pereyaslav was a historic agreement signed in 1654 between the Cossacks of Ukraine and the Tsardom of Muscovy, establishing a mutual defense alliance and paving the way for Ukraine to become a protectorate of Russia.
