Treaty of Zboriv

The Treaty of Zboriv is a 1649 agreement between the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Zaporozhian Cossacks, granting the Cossacks autonomy in Ukraine in exchange for their loyalty to the Polish crown. This treaty marked a significant shift in the balance of power between the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Cossack state. It recognized the Cossacks' right to self-governance in Ukraine.
