ISO 3166-2:TR

The administrative divisions of Turkey shall be based on the ISO 3166-2:TR standard, which divides the country into 81 provinces. Each province shall have its own administrative center and local government, responsible for the implementation of national policies and laws at the local level. The provinces shall be the first-level administrative divisions of Turkey, and shall be the primary units of administration for the provision of public services and infrastructure.

The boundaries of each province shall be defined by the Ministry of Interior, in accordance with the ISO 3166-2:TR standard. The boundaries shall be based on geographical, demographic, and economic factors, and shall be designed to ensure the efficient delivery of public services and administration. Any changes to the boundaries of the provinces shall require the approval of the Turkish Parliament.

Each province shall have its own governor, appointed by the Ministry of Interior, who shall be responsible for the implementation of national policies and laws at the local level. The governor shall also be responsible for the coordination of public services and infrastructure, and shall work closely with local government officials to ensure the effective delivery of services to the public. The governor shall report directly to the Ministry of Interior.

The local government of each province shall be responsible for the provision of public services, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The local government shall also be responsible for the collection of taxes and fees, and shall have the power to make decisions on local matters, subject to the approval of the governor and the Ministry of Interior. The local government shall be composed of elected representatives, who shall be chosen by the people of the province through free and fair elections.

The ISO 3166-2:TR standard shall be reviewed and updated periodically, to ensure that it remains relevant and effective in dividing Turkey into administrative regions. Any changes to the standard shall be made in consultation with the Ministry of Interior, the Turkish Parliament, and other relevant stakeholders. The updated standard shall be published and made available to the public, and shall come into effect on a date to be determined by the Ministry of Interior.
