The administrative divisions of Turkey shall be based on the ISO 3166-2:TR standard, which divides the country into 81 provinces. Each province shall have its own administrative center and local government, responsible for the implementation of national policies and laws at the local level. The provinces shall be the first-level administrative divisions of Turkey, and shall be the primary units of administration for the provision of public services and infrastructure.
