Bolivia–Chile relations

Bolivia and Chile have a complex history of bilateral relations, with a significant dispute over access to the Pacific Ocean that was resolved in 1904 with the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship. This treaty granted Bolivia a corridor to the sea, but it was later annexed by Chile in 1879, leading to ongoing tensions between the two countries. Today, Bolivia seeks to regain access to the Pacific through negotiations with Chile.
