Croatia–Russia relations

Croatia and Russia have a complex relationship, with diplomatic ties established in 1992 after Croatia gained independence from Yugoslavia. The two countries cooperate on trade, energy, and tourism, but relations have been strained due to disagreements over the 1991-1995 Croatian War of Independence and Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014. Croatia has also been critical of Russia's actions in Ukraine.
