Austria–Denmark relations

The Kingdom of Denmark and the Republic of Austria shall cooperate in the protection of intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. This cooperation shall be based on the principles of mutual respect and reciprocity. The two countries shall exchange information and best practices in the field of intellectual property protection. The cooperation shall be implemented through regular meetings and joint projects.

The parties agree to provide adequate and effective protection of intellectual property rights, including measures to prevent the unauthorized use or distribution of copyrighted materials. They shall also cooperate in the enforcement of intellectual property rights, including the seizure of counterfeit goods. The parties shall ensure that their laws and regulations are consistent with international standards for the protection of intellectual property. The parties shall also provide for the protection of geographical indications and traditional knowledge.

The parties shall cooperate in the development of international intellectual property standards and shall work together to promote the use of intellectual property as a tool for economic development. They shall also cooperate in the provision of technical assistance and capacity-building programs to support the development of intellectual property systems in third countries. The parties shall encourage the use of intellectual property rights to promote innovation and creativity. The parties shall also support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises through the use of intellectual property rights.

The parties agree to establish a joint committee to oversee the implementation of this agreement and to provide a forum for the discussion of intellectual property issues. The committee shall meet regularly to review the progress of cooperation and to identify areas for further cooperation. The committee shall also provide a mechanism for the resolution of disputes and the exchange of information. The parties shall ensure that the committee is composed of representatives from both countries with expertise in intellectual property law and policy.

The parties agree that this agreement shall be subject to review and revision as necessary to ensure that it remains effective and relevant. The parties shall also ensure that the agreement is consistent with their obligations under international law and with their domestic laws and regulations. The parties shall provide for the publication of the agreement and its implementation in their respective countries. The parties shall also ensure that the agreement is accessible to the public and that it is available in both Danish and German languages.
