Italy–Somalia relations

Italy and Somalia have a long-standing bilateral relationship, with Italy being one of the first countries to recognize Somalia's independence in 1960. The two countries have cooperated on various development projects, including humanitarian aid and infrastructure development. Italy has also provided significant economic and military assistance to Somalia, particularly in the areas of security and stabilization.
