Garowe Principles

The Garowe Principles are a set of guidelines agreed upon in 2011 between the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia and the country's regional states, outlining a framework for federalism and power-sharing in Somalia. The principles aim to establish a more decentralized system of government, recognizing the autonomy of regional states. They provide a foundation for Somalia's transition from a centralized to a federal state.
