Law of Return

The Law of Return is a 1950 Israeli law that grants the right of immigration and automatic citizenship to Jews from around the world, providing them with a path to settle in Israel. This law aims to promote the ingathering of Jewish people from the diaspora and to strengthen the Jewish identity of the state. It defines a Jew as someone born to a Jewish mother or who has undergone a formal conversion to Judaism.
