Bell Trade Act

The Bell Trade Act is a US law that governed the economic relationship between the US and the Philippines after its independence in 1946. It allowed the US to maintain control over the Philippines' economy and trade policies, and required the country to grant the US most-favored-nation treatment in trade. The law was a condition of the US providing financial assistance to the Philippines.
