Torrijos–Carter Treaties

The Torrijos-Carter Treaties are agreements between the United States and Panama, signed in 1977, which transfer ownership of the Panama Canal from the US to Panama by the end of 1999. This transfer marked a significant shift in control and sovereignty over the canal, with Panama gaining full ownership and operation.
