China–Papua New Guinea relations

China and Papua New Guinea have established diplomatic relations, with China providing significant economic aid and investment to the country. Papua New Guinea has also become a key player in China's Belt and Road Initiative, a massive infrastructure development project. The two countries cooperate on various international forums, including the United Nations.
