Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is a US immigration policy that allows certain young people who entered the US illegally as children to temporarily avoid deportation and work legally in the country. To be eligible, individuals must have arrived in the US before age 16, been under 31 when the policy was implemented, and meet other requirements. They can apply for a two-year renewable permit.
