Japan–South Africa relations

Japan and South Africa established diplomatic relations in 1993, following the end of apartheid in South Africa. Since then, the two countries have strengthened their ties through various economic, cultural, and educational exchanges. Japan has provided significant development assistance to South Africa, focusing on areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
