Gleneagles Agreement

The Gleneagles Agreement is a 1977 international agreement signed at the Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, not South Africa. It was signed by 84 countries, including the United Kingdom, and aims to combat the commercialization of sport, particularly in relation to the sale of footballers. The agreement prohibits the transfer of footballers under the age of 18.
