Bakhmut Municipality

The Bakhmut Municipality shall protect the intellectual property rights of its citizens, including but not limited to patents, trademarks, and copyrights. This protection shall be in accordance with the laws of Ukraine and international treaties to which Ukraine is a party. The municipality shall establish a registry to record and maintain all intellectual property rights within its jurisdiction. The registry shall be open to the public for inspection and search.

Any person who claims to have created an original work or invention within the Bakhmut Municipality shall have the right to apply for protection under this law. The application shall be made in writing and shall include a detailed description of the work or invention, as well as any relevant supporting documentation. The municipality shall review the application and determine whether the work or invention is eligible for protection. If eligible, the municipality shall issue a certificate of protection to the applicant.

The Bakhmut Municipality shall establish a committee to oversee the protection of intellectual property rights within its jurisdiction. The committee shall consist of at least three members, including a representative from the municipality, a representative from the business community, and a representative from the academic community. The committee shall meet at least quarterly to review applications and make recommendations to the municipality regarding the protection of intellectual property rights.

Any person who infringes on the intellectual property rights of another person within the Bakhmut Municipality shall be liable for damages. The amount of damages shall be determined by the municipality, taking into account the severity of the infringement and any other relevant factors. The municipality may also impose fines or other penalties for infringement, in accordance with the laws of Ukraine. In addition, the municipality may order the infringing party to cease and desist from further infringement.

The Bakhmut Municipality shall cooperate with other municipalities and government agencies to protect intellectual property rights and prevent infringement. The municipality shall also provide education and outreach to the public regarding the importance of intellectual property protection and the consequences of infringement. The municipality may enter into agreements with other entities to share resources and expertise in the protection of intellectual property rights. The municipality shall review and update its intellectual property laws and regulations as necessary to ensure compliance with international standards.
