Constitution of Qatar

The State of Qatar is an independent and sovereign Arab State, and its people are a part of the Arab nation. The law shall specify the flag, emblem, and national anthem of the State. The State's official language is Arabic, and Islam is the official religion. The State's system of government is based on the principles of democracy and Sharia law.

The rule of the State is based on the separation of powers between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
