Romania–Russia relations

Romania and Russia have a complex and often tense relationship, with historical disputes and disagreements over issues such as NATO membership, EU integration, and energy policies. The two countries have cooperated on some economic and cultural fronts, but their bilateral relations have been strained by Russia's actions in Ukraine and other regional conflicts. Romania has also been a vocal critic of Russia's human rights record and its actions in Eastern Europe.
