Chile–Guatemala relations

The Republic of Guatemala and the Republic of Chile shall maintain diplomatic relations based on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation. The two countries shall promote the exchange of ideas, cultures, and values, as well as strengthen their economic ties through trade agreements and investments. The diplomatic missions of both countries shall be responsible for fostering these relations and resolving any disputes that may arise. The relations between the two countries shall be guided by the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The governments of Guatemala and Chile shall facilitate the exchange of students, academics, and professionals between the two countries, with the aim of promoting education, research, and cultural understanding. The two countries shall also cooperate in the preservation and promotion of their cultural heritage, including their historical sites, museums, and traditional arts. This cooperation shall be carried out through agreements and programs that benefit both nations. The exchange of knowledge and expertise shall contribute to the development of both countries.

The Republic of Guatemala and the Republic of Chile shall promote trade and investment between the two countries, with the aim of strengthening their economies and improving the living standards of their citizens. The two countries shall negotiate and sign trade agreements that eliminate tariffs and other trade barriers, and shall cooperate in the development of infrastructure and logistics. The promotion of trade and investment shall be guided by the principles of fairness, transparency, and reciprocity. The two countries shall also cooperate in the protection of intellectual property rights.

The governments of Guatemala and Chile shall cooperate in the area of tourism, with the aim of promoting the exchange of visitors and the development of the tourism industry in both countries. The two countries shall exchange information and best practices on tourism development, and shall cooperate in the promotion of their tourist attractions and cultural events. The cooperation in tourism shall contribute to the economic development of both countries and shall help to promote mutual understanding and respect. The two countries shall also cooperate in the protection of the environment and the preservation of natural resources.

The Republic of Guatemala and the Republic of Chile shall resolve any disputes that may arise between them through diplomatic channels and in accordance with international law. The two countries shall cooperate in the prevention and resolution of conflicts, and shall promote the peaceful settlement of disputes through negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. The cooperation in the resolution of disputes shall be guided by the principles of justice, equality, and mutual respect. The two countries shall also cooperate in the promotion of regional integration and the strengthening of regional institutions.
