National Reconciliation Ordinance

The National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) in Pakistan was a presidential ordinance issued in 2007, allowing amnesty to politicians and officials accused of corruption and other crimes in exchange for their cooperation in the country's transition to democracy. The NRO effectively granted immunity to those involved in high-profile cases, including former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and President Pervez Musharraf. It was later declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 2009.
