Berber Dahir

The Berber Dahir is a decree created by the French protectorate in Morocco on May 16, 1930, which effectively stripped Berber tribes of their rights and privileges under Moroccan law, instead subjecting them to French colonial law. This move was seen as an attempt to divide and conquer the Moroccan people. The decree was widely opposed by Moroccan nationalists and was eventually repealed in 1934.
