La Reforma

La Reforma, a set of anticlerical laws in Mexico, aimed to separate church and state by limiting the Catholic Church's power and influence. The laws, enacted in 1859-1860, prohibited clergy from holding public office, owning land, or participating in education. They also allowed for the confiscation of church property and the secularization of marriage and education.
