East African Legislative Assembly

The East African Legislative Assembly is a lawmaking body that serves the East African Community, a regional organization that includes countries such as Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and others. It has the power to propose laws and policies for the community, but its decisions must be approved by the Council of Ministers. The assembly is composed of members elected or appointed by the member states of the East African Community.
