Iraq–Kuwait relations

Iraq and Kuwait have a complex history of bilateral relations, marked by periods of conflict, including Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1990, and ongoing disputes over border territories and oil resources. The two countries have made efforts to normalize relations, including the signing of a border demarcation agreement in 2012. However, tensions remain, particularly over Kuwait's claims to disputed islands in the Persian Gulf.
