Budapest Memorandum

The Budapest Memorandum is an international treaty signed by Ukraine, the United States, Russia, and the United Kingdom in 1994. It guarantees Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity in exchange for Ukraine's agreement to give up its nuclear arsenal. The treaty aims to provide security assurances to Ukraine following its transfer of nuclear weapons to Russia.
