Hungarian nationality law

Hungarian nationality law grants citizenship to individuals born to Hungarian parents, as well as those who have lived in Hungary for at least 8 years and have a clean criminal record. Dual citizenship is allowed, but applicants must declare their intention to renounce their previous citizenship. Hungarian citizenship can also be acquired through naturalization, marriage to a Hungarian citizen, or through a special decree by the Hungarian government.
