The Katif law, also known as the Disengagement Law, is a 2005 Israeli law that allowed the government to dismantle and relocate Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip, including the former settlement of Katif, without the need for a Knesset vote. This law was enacted to facilitate the Israeli disengagement from Gaza. It granted the government the authority to carry out the disengagement without parliamentary approval.
