Ghanaian nationality law grants citizenship to individuals born in Ghana, as well as those born to Ghanaian parents, regardless of the country of birth. To acquire citizenship by naturalization, applicants must have resided in Ghana for at least 5 years, demonstrate good character, and meet certain language and residency requirements. Ghanaian citizenship can also be acquired through descent, marriage, or adoption.
