🇲🇽 McLane–Ocampo Treaty

The McLane-Ocampo Treaty was a 1859 agreement between the United States and Mexico that aimed to strengthen their relationship through trade and commerce, including the construction of a trans-Isthmus canal and the expansion of US access to Mexican ports. The treaty also proposed the establishment of a joint US-Mexican military force to maintain order in Central America. However, the US Senate ultimately rejected the treaty.
