Benchmark announced a fullโ€‘partner partnership with TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 on Tuesday, promising to fund the next breakout startup that emerges from the conferenceโ€™s main stage. The venture firm will be onโ€‘site in San Francisco from September 18โ€‘20, where it will host a dedicated demo lounge, run a โ€œFoundersโ€™ Firesideโ€ chat, and offer a $200 registration discount to earlyโ€‘bird attendees who sign up before 11:59โ€ฏp.m. PT on Septemberโ€ฏ25.

The move comes as investors scramble to tap fresh talent after a twoโ€‘year slowdown in earlyโ€‘stage funding caused by the pandemic and the recent market correction. Benchmark, which helped launch Uber, Twitter and Dropbox, has been sharpening its focus on โ€œpostโ€‘pandemic opportunitiesโ€ in cloud infrastructure, healthโ€‘tech, and AIโ€‘driven platforms. The firmโ€™s partners said the partnership reflects a belief that Disrupt remains a premier hunting ground for founders who have built productโ€‘market fit but need the next round of capital and mentorship to scale. In recent years, Disrupt alumni have raised over $10โ€ฏbillion collectively, underscoring the eventโ€™s role as a pipeline for highโ€‘growth companies.

Organizers said the partnership will expand the conferenceโ€™s startup showcase, allowing Benchmark to select up to five companies for a โ€œquickโ€‘scaleโ€ program that includes a $250,000 seed check, office space at Benchmarkโ€™s New York and San Francisco hubs, and a monthโ€‘long mentorship sprint. Founders who receive the offer will also be invited to present at the conferenceโ€™s closing ceremony, giving them exposure to a global audience of investors and media. Benchmark plans to announce the first batch of backed startups within a week of Disruptโ€™s conclusion, and analysts expect the move to set a benchmark for ventureโ€‘firm involvement in major tech events, potentially reshaping how earlyโ€‘stage capital is sourced in the coming year.
