President Donald Trump’s endorsement will be put to the test once again Tuesday in New Hampshire’s primaries, where liberal Democrats are also looking to cap an ascendant primary season with additional victories.

Granite State voters are among the last in the country to choose nominees for November’s elections, and Tuesday’s contests will set the matchup in one of this year’s most competitive Senate races.

Trump is hoping his preferred candidate, former GOP Sen. John Sununu, prevails in the primary. On the Democratic side, Rep. Chris Pappas is looking to fend off a democratic socialist opponent for his party’s Senate nomination.

A divisive Democratic battle is also unfolding in one of the state’s competitive House seats, which Pappas left open, while another House Democrat is facing a primary challenger from the left.

Here’s what to watch Tuesday in New Hampshire, where poll closing times vary by municipality, ranging from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET.

Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s retirement opened up this Senate seat, and Republicans are hoping to make the race competitive in November.

Pappas, who has won in a battleground seat since 2018, is considered the front-runner for his party’s nomination. He already appears to be gearing up for the general election, focusing his campaign on addressing high costs and political corruption and already launching an ad attacking a potential Republican opponent.

But Pappas is facing a challenge from the left from Karishma Manzur, a scientist and a member of the Democratic Socialists of America who supports progressive policies like “Medicare for All.” Manzur has sharply criticized Pappas over support and funding for Israel, saying he is “enabling genocide.”
