Ngl I've gone through similar issues with my old chihuahua Lola she'd bark at literally anything that moved lol I started using a similar method but also implemented a 'settle' command, which she'd associate with calmness and I can confidently say it made a huge difference, took her about 20 days to get it but it was worth it.
